The Studio of the Sea Program produces films about the state of our oceans, the beauty and decline of coral reefs and the life of island cultures around the world with the aim of inspiring people to make a difference in stewarding life on our ocean planet.
The idea for Studio of the Sea was born in 1984 off the northeast coast of Sri Lanka during a sailing expedition dedicated to following and studying sperm and blue whales. Studio of the Sea now resides in the belly of our ship as it sails the oceans with the aim to capture the experience of our blue planet: the great whales, coral reefs, sea creatures, and cultures of the sea, or “sea people.”
